As the Climate Talks opened in Paris on Monday, I opened the Daily Camera and Times-Call to read:

 

“Eco-Cycle’s Missed Targets: What do you do when reduce, reuse, recycle doesn’t work?”

 

These provocative headlines and the lead suggested a slam piece against Eco-Cycle and Zero Waste, which I found ironic, given that Zero Waste practices are among the quickest and easiest ways for communities like ours to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that are fueling global warming.

As a result of their great work, BI Incorporated and Vital Network Solutions have reduced their carbon footprint equal to have the equivalent of 25,000 gallons of gasoline from being consumed!

This Boulder-based sun hat company recycles all packaging that they can, including plastic film and cardboard. In the past two years, they've diverted more than 3,000 pounds of plastic film and more than 30,000 pounds of cardboard from the landfill.
