More than 30 years ago, Eco-Cycle rolled out a fleet of old school buses onto Boulder streets to collect recyclable material from local residents. It was the dawning of recycling in America and of a new way to manage resources, one that established our community as a pioneer in resource conservation. Back then, businesses, local organizations, school groups, municipalities and many dedicated volunteers partnered to make our community one of the first twenty in the United States to implement a curbside recycling program.

Three decades later, recycling is a household word and there are more than 9,000 curbside recycling programs throughout the nation. Despite the dramatic rise in recycling, however, the need for society to drastically change the way it uses resources is more important than ever. Zero Waste is the new revolution in resource conservation that will propel our community closer to sustainability.

Partner with us today to build a Zero Waste community and distinguish yourself as a member of the Founders' Society. This group of loyal Eco-Cycle supporters has committed to annual gifts of $1,000 or more and receives many benefits:

  • invitations to speaking engagements with prominent leaders in the environmental movement
  • special get-togethers with Eco-Cycle’s Executive Director, Eric Lombardi
  • tours of Eco-Cycle facilities
