Dear Recyclers,
Welcome to the recently updated edition of
Eco-Cycle's guide
to recycling "hard-to-recycle" materials that typically end up
in a landfill. This popular guide is designed for the committed recycler like
you who is willing to go the extra mile to recycle everything you can. With
efforts like yours, we're keeping more resources out of landfills, preventing
toxins from entering our soil and groundwater, preserving natural resources for
generations to come, and building a Zero Waste community.
Eco-Cycle has another great tool that promotes
reuse in our community--Eco-Cycle
Exchange . Eco-Cycle Exchange
is an online community bulletin board for reuse where individuals can offer
up free, unwanted reusable items or browse through listings and find a treasure
of their own. It's free to join, free to post, free to browse, and best
of all, every item up for exchange is free. Think of it as a virtual
free garage sale you can visit 24/7! You can also use the Exchange to learn
about additional reuse opportunities in our area including other
free services, thrift stores and garage sales.
To further support
your efforts, Eco-Cycle is spearheading an international movement toward Zero Waste. This
movement goes to the source of environmental destruction by holding industry
responsible for the products and waste they create. Zero Waste demands that goods
are designed for the environment, not the landfill. With the help of dedicated recyclers
like yourself and other community partners, we hope to create a Zero Waste community model
for the rest of the world.
Thanks again for your
commitment to doing the right thing.
