Every year Eco-Cycle recognizes the many businesses, schools, volunteers, local governments, community event planners and individuals who are setting examples both locally and globally with their Zero Waste efforts.
Businesses: This year, YOU voted for our Zero Waste business winners. Eco-Cycle staff chose two award finalists in three categories from the more than 800 businesses that partnered with Eco-Cycle through our Zero Waste Services program in 2008. We produced short video clips highlighting each finalist’s commitment to the environment and let the public choose the winners. Check out the videos on our all finalists by clicking on each category.

Local Government: The planning decisions made by our local government leaders are essential to our Zero Waste mission. Many of our local governments made great strides with new policies and practices that will help their populations get closer to Zero Waste. This year, the City of Louisville won the Zero Waste award for their leadership in adopting community-wide recycling and compost, becoming the second city in Boulder County to do so.
Mary Wolff Zero Waste Community Leader Award in honor of our longest-standing board member and one of Eco-Cycle’s founders. This year's winner:
Rhythm on the River, Longmont for being our first and longest-running Zero Waste event, now in its 14th year.
