Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed at all hard-to-recycle collections to help in a variety of roles including:

Materials Movers

Set-up: Help unload the truck, move wheeled carts and pallets, assemble large cardboard boxes, hang signs, and place traffic cones.

Traffic director: Direct cars into appropriate lanes and collect itemized receipt from customers.

Collection Crew: Help unload cars and direct people to the appropriate bins. Knowledge of acceptable and unacceptable materials is helpful, but training will be provided.

Break-down: Take down signs, collect traffic cones, help organize materials and load the truck.

Customer Service

Set-up: Help set up cones to form lanes for easy entrance for vehicles.

Greeters: Be familiar with guidelines and pricing (prior knowledge very helpful, training provided day of event). Greet vehicles and take inventory of items to be recycled. Collect fees and make change. Distribute newsletters and additional environmental information to customers as requested.
