Read the Label First! Know What You're Buying Before You Check Out

This spring, the Boulder County Health Department is once again partnering with Boulder County retailers to educate consumers about the potential health impacts of common pesticides and household cleaning products. Participating stores will post “shelf-talker” signs indicating how certain chemicals may affect humans and the environment. The shelf-talkers and educational brochures available in the stores were developed in conjunction with EcoCycle and provide suggestions for less hazardous alternatives. Look for the “Read the Label First” shelf-talkers in these Boulder County stores: Albertson’s (Boulder), Budget Home Center (Longmont), King Soopers (all stores), Lafayette Florist, Lolita’s Market (Boulder), McGuckin Hardware (Boulder), Sutherland’s (Boulder), and 30th Street Market (Boulder).
