The
salads are fresh, the soups are delicious, but is your favorite
restaurant PACE certified? Many restaurants in Boulder County are
doing their part and proving their commitment to the environment
and to the community by getting certified in the Partners for A
Clean Environment (PACE) program.
What do restaurants do to become certified? Two important criteria
are recycling materials collected by local haulers and properly
managing fats, oil and grease. Proper management of fats, oil and
grease is very important since sewer lines are routinely blocked
near restaurants, resulting in costly (and smelly) problems for
utilities departments and property owners.
So look for a PACE decal when you dine out, and you can know that
restaurant shares your commitment to recycling and the
environment. For a list of certified restaurants (or dental
offices, printers, auto shops and manufacturers) visit
www.pacepartners.com or call 303-786-PACE.
PACE is a partnership of the City of Boulder, Boulder County,
Boulder Chamber of Commerce and City of Longmont.
