This year, instead
of buying a tree that ends up in the landfill or as mulch, buy a
live tree that will continue to help the environment once the
holidays are over. Many nurseries throughout the county sell
living, potted evergreen trees that can be placed indoors for a
short period, then wait outside for spring planting.
The City of
Louisville is giving 50% rebates (up to $50) for live trees
donated to the City after holiday use. Call 303-335-4735 for
details. Louisville Parks and Recreation (303-666-6565) is also
providing vouchers for 20% discounts on live trees purchased from
Treehouse Nursery.

completely clean of any tinsel, ornaments or other decorations.
Trees will be mulched. There are no curbside collection programs
for recycling trees.

hardware is acceptable.
